VP-Pro USA TQ's and Wins 1/8 Pro Buggy and 1/8 Pro Arena Truck at Round 4 of the RC Pro Florida State Series!
Round 4 of the RC Pro FL Series was held at Florida's largest track in Avon Park. The track is know for getting really bumpy and very technical. The all new layout was slightly shorter with average lap times of 37 seconds as opposed to 47 seconds on the previous layout. The center of the track was tight and blue grooved, while the outer part of the track was bumpy and dusty and wide open for some major speed and air time.
In round 1 of Truggy, it was Chad Olcott who took TQ, followed closely by VP-Pro driver Joey "Batman" Perez. In round 2, Batman had electrical problems and did not finish his heat. But in round 3, Batman put down a blistering pace and took the overall TQ using VP-Pro Medium Flexx Turbo Trax on the now blue groove and bumpy track. In round 1 of Pro buggy, it was Ryan Johnson who took the TQ by .5 seconds over VP-Pro driver Gene "The Machine" Hickerson. In round 2, Hickerson switched from Cutoffs to Ultra Flexx Turbo Trax and took TQ with the only 9 lap run of the day. Hickerson went on to TQ round 3 as well.
1/8 Pro Arena Truck A-main
Batman and Olcott battled for the lead for the 1st 8 minutes of the 30 minute main event. Olcott then broke a ball end on his Losi and was off the track for several laps for repairs. That gave Batman a huge lead and he went on to lap the whole field 4 times for an easy win for VP-Pro USA. Olcott managed to work his way back up to 2nd after many had problems on the tough track.
1/8 Pro Buggy A-main
In buggy, Hickerson and Johnson pulled away from the pack. Soon after, Hickerson started to lay down unheard of lap times and got down to as low as a 34.1 second lap time, while no one else managed to do less then a 35.1. Hickerson quickly lapped the field twice and went on to an easy win for VP-Pro USA, using premounted Ultra Flexx Turbo Trax.
1/8 Sportsman Arena Truck A-main
VP-Pro tires were also used in the sportsman class by privateer driver Brian Shook. Shook used VP-Pro Medium Flexx Turbo Trax in qualifying and the A-main event, along with a VP-Pro high downforce K Wing and VP-Pro aluminum clutch shoes on his truggy.
